Dear Friend,
Thank you for your interest in the American Heritage Party. We are trying to encourage Christians to commit deeply to serving Christ and applying God’s Word to all of life, including civil government. We encourage you to use this site and its various links to better understand the vision of the AHP. We trust that what you read about the American Heritage Party will prove both beneficial and encouraging to you.
Hopefully it will become evident to you that the AHP is taking a completely different path toward political activity. Forming a political party on the Word of God, for the glory of God, has caused us to develop our convictions and principles in such a way that our message, structure and strategy are unlike those of any other party that exists in our country today. (See our Digest of Principles and Comprehensive Vision.)
In adopting this strategy we are not claiming that ballot access and the election of candidates for public office are unimportant; but they are not the foundation of an explicitly Christian party. Our approach flows from sound Biblical worldview, Christian character, and strong family life. (If these ideas are not primary, then the end result will be man-centered, and power politics will eventually prevail.) Thus by building carefully on the principles of God’s Word, we are establishing a solid basis for ballot access and running candidates.
Of highest importance is our emphasis on qualifying leaders through Biblical and character qualifications and testing their ability to think Biblically concerning world- view, public policy and civil government. Living our lives and raising our families as “Biblical Christians” within our local communities is necessary for effective, long-lasting reformation. Ultimately, this quality of Christian character, depth of Biblical conviction, and degree of competence in our proposed fields of service will provide a more sure foundation for effecting political reformation in our nation.
